Basketball Game Preview: Northgate Broncos vs. Berean Christian Eagles

Northgate is 8-0 against Berean Christian since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Northgate Broncos will head out to challenge the Berean Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Northgate's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.

Northgate is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest win since January 29, 2024 on Friday. They breezed by Concord to the tune of 74-33. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Northgate's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Rufus Lee, who posted 11 points, and Damien Smith, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points. Lee is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Majed Alhejazin was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Berean Christian played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 69-26 loss at the hands of Acalanes. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 700th, while the Dons are ranked 146th).

Berean Christian's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7. As for Northgate, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Everything came up roses for Northgate against Berean Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 77-33 win. Does Northgate have another victory up their sleeve, or will Berean Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
