Basketball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends North Tahoe's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but North Tahoe unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 61-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pershing County Mustangs. The Lakers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 65-61.

Despite the loss, North Tahoe still got an impressive performance from Seth Hendricks, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 19 rebounds. With that strong performance, Hendricks is now averaging an impressive 8.4 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Cormac Springsteel, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Even though they lost, North Tahoe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pershing County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trenton Rhodes, who posted 18 points and five steals. Rhodes is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. Travis Donaldson was another key player, putting up 17 points along with six boards and three steals.

North Tahoe's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Pershing County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season.

North Tahoe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-53 victory against Yerington on the 1st. Pershing County has also already played their next match, a 66-32 win against Oasis Academy on the 4th.
