Recap: Discovery Spartans vs. Jordan Christian Prep Seahawks
The Discovery Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. They were outmatched by Jordan Christian Prep at home and fell 66-9. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Discovery has scored all season.
Jordan Christian Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Delissa Morris, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Morris has scored at least 25% of Jordan Christian Prep's points. Amelia Williams was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with six steals.
Discovery's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.0 points per game. As for Jordan Christian Prep, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.
Discovery will be home for the holidays to greet Oasis Christian at 6:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Jordan Christian Prep will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Kathleen at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th.
