Pyramid Lake and Smith Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Pyramid Lake Lakers will face off against the Smith Valley Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Saturday, Pyramid Lake was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to Virginia City. The Lakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, in Saturday's Canine Competition, Smith Valley came out on top. They claimed a resounding 62-22 victory over Coleville. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 27 points or more this season.

Smith Valley pushed their record up to 22-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points over those games. As for Pyramid Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-10.

Pyramid Lake ended up a good deal behind Smith Valley in their previous matchup on Thursday, losing 63-46. Can Pyramid Lake avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
