Riverdale hadn't done well against Sherrard recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Rams won by a set and slipped past the Tigers 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in September.

Riverdale was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (71-65), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 25-23, 15-25, 25-23.

Cayleigh Hungate paced Riverdale's offense, picking up ten kills. Hungate got some help from Amarah Coleman and her 17 assists. Hungate was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

When it comes to explaining why Sherrard lost, don't look at Adalynn Elsbury. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs and one assist. Another player making a difference was Ava Egel, who had ten digs.

Riverdale has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7-1 record this season. As for Sherrard, they moved to 25-4-1 with that loss, which also ended their five-match winning streak.
