Barbe won the last time they faced Lafayette and things went their way on Thursday too. The Buccaneers blew past the Lions 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Buccaneers.

Barbe walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 25-12.

Despite the defeat, Lafayette had strong showings from Brae'Ona Smith, who had 20 digs and three assists, and Avery Larpenteur, who had 12 assists and five digs.

Barbe's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Lafayette, their loss ended a five-match streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Barbe will square off against rival Acadiana at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lafayette is set to challenge their familiar foe Carencro at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
