Jal had a senior duo take command as Nolbert Cervantes posted 25 points and A3 Rodriguez put up 17 points. Cervantes' evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Texico beat Melrose 79-73 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

Jal's win bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Texico, they pushed their record up to 21-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Things could have been worse for Jal, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-51 loss to Texico when the teams last played back in January.
