Basketball Recap: Lockport's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Monday

Lockport's tournament run continued when they took on Conant on Monday. The Lockport Porters came out on top against the Conant Cougars by a score of 48-36. Given the Porters' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Cougars are ranked 240th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lockport's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Conant, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Lockport will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Stagg at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Conant also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Fremd at 4:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
