Baseball Recap: Amundsen Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Amundsen's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kenwood Broncos on Tuesday. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Broncos from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Henry Kalmus was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Amundsen saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shea O'Conor, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Amundsen's loss dropped their record down to 8-21. As for Kenwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-6-1 record this season.

Amundsen will venture away from home to square off against Benet Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kenwood, they will host Payton College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Broncos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grizzlies have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
