Softball Game Preview: Bishop Fenwick Falcons vs. Badin Rams

Bishop Fenwick is 1-9 against Badin since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Falcons will look to defend their home field against the Rams at 5:00 p.m. Badin took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Bishop Fenwick, who comes in off a win.

Bishop Fenwick's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Archbishop McNicholas by a score of 4-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

The result came thanks to Mackenzie Gibbons's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bishop Fenwick saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Snelling Kinsey, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Badin lost 9-1 to Hamilton on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Big Blue: they've now lost three in a row.

Kendall P. was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. P. was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two stolen bases.

Bishop Fenwick's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Badin, their loss dropped their record down to 17-5.
