Softball Recap: Mesa Comes Up Short

Mesa was the 21-16 winner over Westwood when they last played one another on April 7th, but their luck changed this time around. The Jackrabbits lost 31-16 to the Warriors on Wednesday. The Jackrabbits have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leah Alcala made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Isom, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Westwood, the win got them back to even at 12-12-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Mesa is set to square off against their familiar foe Red Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Westwood will challenge rival Mountain View at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
