Softball Recap: Honaker Takes a Loss

Honaker was the 2-1 winner over Rural Retreat when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers fell just short of the Indians by a score of 7-6 on Friday. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aliyah Hilton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Madayln Dye, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Honaker's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Rural Retreat, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Honaker will square off against rival Holston at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Tigers have won four straight at home, while the Cavaliers won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Meanwhile, Rural Retreat is set to take on their familiar foe Northwood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
