Soccer Recap: Highland Park Comes Up Short

Highland Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marist RedHawks. Highland Park were not able to make up for their loss to Marist from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Highland Park's goal came courtesy of Sydney Jones, which was the first she's scored this season.

Highland Park's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Marist, they pushed their record up to 6-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Highland Park has already played their next contest, a 2-2 victory against Round Lake on the 14th. As for Marist, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Plainfield Central on the 14th.
