Last Saturday, Miami Country Day strolled past Belen Jesuit with points to spare, taking the game 77-58. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Wolverines are ranked 115th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Miami Country Day found their leader in sophomore Miguel Orbe, who went 9 for 11 on his way to 24 points and seven rebounds. Orbe's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Fernando Romero was another key player, going 8 of 11 on his way to 20 points and five boards.
Miami Country Day smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 13 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Coral Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Westland Hialeah with a sharp 62-40 win on Thursday. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 21 points or more this season.
Miami Country Day better keep an eye on Angel Lara. He was instrumental in Coral Park's win, going 12 of 29 on his way to 34 points along with eight boards and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lara has scored at least a third of Coral Park's points.
