Basketball Recap: East Coweta Now 8-2 over Last Ten Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westlake, East Coweta was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Douglas County Tigers, sneaking past 50-47. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Tigers are ranked 297th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Qwes Williams was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Harper Rife was another key player, putting up 11 points and four steals.

East Coweta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

East Coweta has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Douglas County, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Coweta will challenge Chapel Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Coweta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.3 points per game this season. As for Douglas County, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Douglas County Tigers challenge the Westlake Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
