Football Game Preview: Middletown North Lions vs. Brick Memorial Mustangs + How To Watch

Middletown North is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They managed a 20-14 win over Manalapan. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Matthew Belenko produced another solid performance rushing for 97 yards and two touchdowns. He has become a key player for Middletown North: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. Jack Viola also helped out with an impressive 87 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Brick Memorial humbled Steinert with a 40-7 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 28 points or more this season.

Brick Memorial's win came from a few key players Middletown North will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nazeer Whittaker, who rushed for 237 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 12.5 yards per carry. Those 237 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Jason Lajara was another key player, rushing for 47 yards and three scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brick Memorial was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 297 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Middletown North now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Brick Memorial, their record is now 9-2.
