Baseball Recap: Pearland Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Pearland won the last time they faced South Houston and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Oilers were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Trojans. The result was nothing new for the Oilers, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Mitchell Araujo and Mason Galvan dominated on the mound. Araujo pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Galvan tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Galvan posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Logan Johnson was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Brady Brewer was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Pearland hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.

Pearland pushed their record up to 20-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for South Houston, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-22.

Pearland will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
