Basketball Recap: Northeast Comes Up Short

Northeast played a tough matchup on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the McArthur Mustangs 82-48. If the Hurricanes were looking for revenge after losing 68-42 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Northeast lost, don't look at Eddie Prien. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 9 on his way to 13 points and eight boards. That's the most points Prien has posted since back in February of 2024. Watson Bonhomme also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Thomas Cole had a dynamite game for McArthur, putting up 26 points. Jordan Noel was another key player, earning six points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for McArthur, their record now sits at 8-13.

Northeast has already played their next game (against Taravella), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. McArthur didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-28 win against Hollywood Hills on the 28th.
