Basketball Recap: Oak Park Takes a Loss

After flying high against Paraclete last Saturday, Oak Park came back down to earth. The Oak Park Eagles took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Andrew's Highlanders on Saturday.

Leading St. Andrew's to victory were Jayden Buchunam and Coleman Elkins. Buchunam shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Elkins dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, Elkins is now averaging an impressive 8.3 rebounds per game.

Oak Park's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for St. Andrew's, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.

Oak Park didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-45 victory against Santa Clara on the 13th. As for St. Andrew's, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 58-52 win against Regents on the 7th.
