Preview: Steward Spartans vs. Catholic Crusaders
The Steward Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Catholic Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
In what's become a running theme this season, Steward gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Hampton Roads Academy 55-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Steward has posted against Hampton Roads Academy since February 20, 2018.
Steward found their leader in underclassman Sanai Green, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Green hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Ava Johnson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Catholic entered their tilt with Norfolk Collegiate with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Catholic breezed by Norfolk Collegiate at home to the tune of 95-18. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Catholic has managed all season.
Steward has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. As for Catholic, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
