Basketball Recap: Crosby-Ironton Gets the Win

Crosby-Ironton's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Staples-Motley Cardinals by a score of 63-54. This was payback for the Rangers, who suffered a 59-49 defeat the last time these two teams met.

It was another big night for Jack Kovatovich, who went 8-for-14 to rack up 22 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Kyle Spencer was another key player, putting up 11 points and six boards.

Kovatovich wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Crosby-Ironton was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Crosby-Ironton's win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Staples-Motley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

Crosby-Ironton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-59 victory against Rush City on the 13th. As for Staples-Motley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-59 win against Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton on the 14th.
