Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Central Catholic Victorious

Lafayette Central Catholic won the last time they faced Cowan and things went their way on Saturday too. The Knights came out on top against the Blackhawks by a score of 2-0.

Lauren Johnson paced Lafayette Central Catholic's offense, picking up eight kills. Johnson got some help from Paige Perez and her 14 assists. Perez also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Brooke Thompson, each putting up two.

Despite the defeat, Cowan saw an underclassman step up: freshman Demi Abbott had 15 assists and six digs. Abbott has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more assists the last three times she's played.

Lafayette Central Catholic now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Cowan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lafayette Central Catholic will take on West Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cowan, they will face off against Shenandoah at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
