Eastern is 9-1 against Clinton Central since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Comets will take on the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Eastern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.

Ava Roberson made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Eastern got a massive performance out of Elle Winger, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Winger a new career-high. Katie Hendricks was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Eastern always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marion only posted an OBP of .182.

Meanwhile, Clinton Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Carroll, falling 11-1.

Clinton Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Eastern, their record now sits at 3-18.

Eastern came out on top in a nail-biter against Clinton Central when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
