Soccer Recap: Memorial Takes Down Lubbock-Cooper in a Playoff Battle

Memorial had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates on Thursday. Given Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Lubbock-Cooper are ranked 147th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Memorial has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4-1 record this season. Lubbock-Cooper's loss dropped their record down to 12-6-4.

Coming up, Memorial will take on Bel Air on Monday. Bel Air will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Memorial surely won't give up without a fight. Lubbock-Cooper does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
