Softball Recap: Gaither Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Gaither and North Fort Myers squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Gaither had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Red Knights by a score of 7-6.

Riley Russell and Carolyn Emanuel did some serious damage despite the final result: Russell went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double, while Emanuel went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Gaither now has a losing record of 10-11. As for North Fort Myers, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Gaither does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Fort Myers, they will be playing at home against Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Red Knights' favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Fightin' Tarpons have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
