Recap: Pinkston Vikings vs. Celina Bobcats
If The Pinkston Vikings were riding high off their 42-14 takedown of the Ranchview Wolves last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pinkston was outmatched by Celina on the road and fell 57-6. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pinkston in their matchups with Celina: they've now lost four in a row.
Celina's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Knox Porter, who threw for 102 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes, and also punched in a rushing score. Harrison Williams was in the mix as well, providing Celina with two touchdowns.
Pinkston's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.3 points per game. As for Celina, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Pinkston will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Dallas at 7:30 p.m. North Dallas is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Celina, they will head out on the road to face off against Panther Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Panther Creek is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
