Basketball Game Preview: Agua Fria Owls vs. Deer Valley Skyhawks

Agua Fria hasn't had much luck against Deer Valley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Agua Fria Owls will be playing at home against the Deer Valley Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m.

Agua Fria is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. The game between them and Estrella Foothills didn't end well, with Agua Fria falling 65-46.

Meanwhile, Deer Valley waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 70-49 victory. Given the Skyhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Panthers are ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Deer Valley is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points per game. As for Agua Fria, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

Agua Fria was dealt a bruising 71-28 loss at the hands of Deer Valley in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Agua Fria avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
