Basketball Recap: Southwest Christian School Takes a Loss

Southwest Christian School lost against Trinity Christian back in January of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Southwest Christian School Eagles took an 83-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Christian Lions. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (64), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Trinity Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucai Anderson, who went 11 of 19 en route to 28 points along with six boards and five assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Anderson has scored at least a third of Trinity Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jett Mccasland, who went 8 of 18 on his way to 23 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Southwest Christian School has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 12-11.

Southwest Christian School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 59-49 defeat against Midland Christian on the 4th. Trinity Christian has also already played their next contest, an 82-42 victory against All S on the 4th.
