Football Recap: Chamberlain Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

Chamberlain owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They strolled past the Mulberry Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 16-0.

The critical scores for Chamberlain came from Anthony Ford and Steven Valentine.

Chamberlain didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Valentine led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Chamberlain pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.8 points over those games. As for Mulberry, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chamberlain will face off against Leto at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Storm will be up against the Falcons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.8 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Mulberry, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on DeSoto County at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
