Volleyball Recap: Heritage Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Heritage waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Freedom Falcons by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in March.

While Heritage might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Freedom scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-21, 20-25, 25-23.

Sapond Mashal paced Heritage's offense, picking up 17 kills. Mashal got some help from Nathan Panggat and his 23 assists. Panggat was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

When it comes to explaining why Freedom lost, don't look at Allen Martinez. Despite the final result, he had six digs and three aces.

Heritage's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-8. As for Freedom, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Heritage didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Deer Valley on the 22nd. As for Freedom, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Liberty on the 17th.
