Basketball Recap: Perry Takes a Loss

Perry lost against Nevada back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Perry Bluejays were dealt a 74-47 defeat at the hands of the Nevada Cubs. The match marked the Bluejays' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Perry's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gustavo Drahos, who posted 18 points. Drahos' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Geren Kenney, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Perry and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Nevada, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Perry wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 82-33 victory against South Hamilton on the 6th. As for Nevada, they will take on Grand View Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Nevada's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
