Softball Game Preview: Buchanan Bucks vs. Coloma Comets

The Buchanan Bucks will venture away from home to face off against the Coloma Comets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Buchanan's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Berrien Springs with a sharp 15-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bucks in their matchups with the Shamrocks: they've now won nine in a row.

While Coloma didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-7), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Watervliet on Tuesday as they made off with an 18-2 win. The Comets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The victory got Buchanan back to even at 5-5. As for Coloma, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 6-1-1 record this season.

Buchanan took their win against Coloma in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 13-0 score. Will the Bucks repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
