Football Recap: Coronado Skates Past Pueblo Centennial with Ease

Coronado never let their opponents score on Thursday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 46-0 victory over the Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Cougars just coasted through the last quarter.

Thomas Buckmiller was his usual excellent self, throwing for 232 yards and four TDs on only 15 passes, while also punching in one rushing score. Buckmiller is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least four every time he's taken the field this season. Lyrik Smith was another key player, picking up 105 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The win got Coronado back to even at 2-2. As for Pueblo Centennial, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Coronado will welcome Berthoud at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pueblo Centennial, they will head out on the road to challenge Pueblo Central at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
