Basketball Game Preview: Manatee Hurricanes vs. Palmetto Tigers

Manatee and Palmetto are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Manatee Hurricanes just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Palmetto Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Manatee's tournament run continued when they took on Gateway on Monday. Manatee took a 45-27 bruising from Gateway. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Eagles are ranked 115th).

Meanwhile, Palmetto played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 84-32 loss at the hands of Lakewood. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-13.

Manatee's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Palmetto, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-9.

Everything went Manatee's way against Palmetto in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as Manatee made off with a 67-44 win. Will Manatee repeat their success, or does Palmetto have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
