Recap: Bismarck Indians vs. Valle Catholic Warriors
The Bismarck Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 69-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Valle Catholic. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (56), Bismarck still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Bismarck still got an impressive performance from Sven Wilson, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That was a full 45.8% of Bismarck's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Daven Miller, who scored 19 points along with five assists.
Bismarck struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Bismarck has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Valle Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bismarck won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Delta at 5:00 p.m. on February 8th. Delta is coming into the game with five straight losses on the road, meaning Bismarck will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Valle Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against North County at 7:30 p.m.
