Columbus lost against Callaway on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Columbus Falcons were outmatched by the Callaway Chargers and fell 56-21. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Chargers are ranked 12th).

Megann Wallace was nothing short of spectacular for Callaway: she went 11 for 16 en route to 28 points and five steals. Those 28 points gave Wallace a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahanna Wilson, who posted ten points along with eight boards and six steals.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Callaway, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-3.

Columbus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 118-13 defeat against Vicksburg on the 25th. As for Callaway, they will venture away from home to challenge Neshoba Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neshoba Central is on a nine-game streak of home wins, Callaway a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
