The Evans Trojans will square off against the Lake Minneola Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Minneola took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Evans, who comes in off a win.
While Evans' win against Cocoa wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Tigers 11-10 on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trojans considering their two-run performance the game before.
Zachary Reinert made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Reinert was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Manuel Contreras was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. He has become a key player for Evans: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-11 otherwise. Tarrick Bridges was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Lake Minneola has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against Timber Creek, falling 13-3. The Hawks' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Lake Minneola saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Cali, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Lake Minneola's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Evans, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Evans has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lake Minneola struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Evans suffered a grim 19-2 defeat to Lake Minneola in their previous matchup back in April of 2021. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
