Baseball Recap: Wallington Victorious

Wallington won the last time they faced Elmwood Park and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 9-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Eddie Tanderis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Wallington let Ayden Sanchez and Alex Jimenez run wild. Sanchez went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Jimenez went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Jimenez has posted over his last seven matchups. Alex Syby was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.

Wallington's record is now 11-6-1. As for Elmwood Park, with the defeat, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wallington beat the Crusaders by a score of 13-3 on Monday.
