Shelbyville dropped their record down to 16-6 on Monday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Mattoon Greenwave, falling 7-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rams have suffered since April 9th.

As for Mattoon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-12. Considering they have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Mattoon's part, Kamden Tinsman looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Tinsman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zander Piper, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Mathew Miller, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Looking ahead, Shelbyville will challenge Pana at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mattoon, they will face off against St. Joseph-Ogden at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
