Montague posted their closest win since April 25th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Ludington Orioles. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Orioles on Tuesday, they had to take a 13-9 defeat.

Eli Petersen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Cole Moss was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Levi Auger, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Montague's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Ludington, they moved to 14-8-2 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Montague will venture away from home to take on Newaygo at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ludington, they will head out to challenge Cadillac at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
