Basketball Recap: Maconaquah Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Maconaquah won the last time they faced Lewis Cass, and Josiah Ball did his part to make sure it happened again. The Maconaquah Braves breezed by the Lewis Cass Kings to the tune of 72-34 on Friday thanks in part to Ball, who went 14 for 17 en route to 34 points in addition to six boards and three steals. He has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more points the last 35 times he's played.

Devon Murry was another key player, putting up four points and six assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

Several Kings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryce Rudd, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points. Another player making a difference was Owen Cotner-Graves, who posted three points.

The victory (which was Maconaquah's fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-2. As for Lewis Cass, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Maconaquah has already played their next matchup, a 71-52 defeat against Brownsburg on the 1st. As for Lewis Cass, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 78-32 loss against Kokomo on the 1st.
