Softball Recap: Rye Cove Victorious

While Rye Cove's victory against Castlewood wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Blue Devils 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since March 26th.

The team relied heavily on Aubrey Sartin, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Edwards, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Rye Cove and bumps their season record up to 11-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Castlewood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Looking ahead, Rye Cove will take on Thomas Walker at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pioneers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.14 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. Castlewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
