Recap: Oakland Mills Scorpions vs. Great Mills Hornets
The Oakland Mills Scorpions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. The game between Oakland Mills and Great Mills wasn't particularly close, with Oakland Mills falling 60-44. While losing is never fun, Oakland Mills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while Great Mills is ranked 54th).
DeAndre Dorsey was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with seven assists and two steals for Great Mills. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dorsey has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Brooks, who scored six points along with 15 rebounds and eight blocks.
Oakland Mills has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Great Mills, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3.
Oakland Mills will be playing in front of their home fans against Wilde Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Great Mills, they will head out on the road to challenge Northern at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
