Baseball Game Preview: Shoemaker Wolves vs. Harker Heights Knights

Shoemaker hasn't had much luck against Harker Heights recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wolves will be playing at home against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. The last four games Shoemaker has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, Shoemaker didn't have quite enough to beat Copperas Cove and fell 2-1.

Joephillip Guzman was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Guzman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Harker Heights entered their game against Salado on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Knights fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Knights couldn't push the score so high this time.

Shoemaker now has a losing record of 9-10-2. As for Harker Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5-1.

Shoemaker might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Harker Heights in their previous matchup back in April of 2021. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
