Baseball Recap: David Posnack Jewish Day Triumphs

David Posnack Jewish Day won against Katz Yeshiva last Tuesday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The David Posnack Jewish Day Rams came out on top in a nail-biter against the North Miami Beach Chargers, sneaking past 16-15. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Asher Belfer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zachary Fischer, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Shapiro, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

David Posnack Jewish Day's record is now 2-4. As for North Miami Beach, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. David Posnack Jewish Day will venture away from home to face off against Highlands Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Miami Beach, they will take on Stranahan at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
