On Thursday Sydney Shaffer didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. The effort marked the fewest hits Shaffer has had since back in April of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her third in a row with more than seven strikeouts. This year, she has an ERA of 1.24 over 17 innings pitched.

Coming up, Shaffer and Palm Beach Gardens will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Cooper City at 6:30 p.m. Shaffer has dominated as far as hits are concerned (she's averaged 2 per game this season), but she's got her work cut out for her considering the Cowboys have only allowed 5.8 per game this season.
