Baseball Recap: Montville's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Montville can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the West Morris Mendham Minutemen a 6-0 shutout. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 victory the Minutemen walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Not much got past Hersh Parikh, who gave up just six hits to keep West Morris Mendham off the board. Parikh has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Trevor Pasquale, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. CJ Tedesco also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Montville's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for West Morris Mendham, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 7-13.

Coming up, West Morris Mendham will head out on the road to take on Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devil's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Minutemen's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Montville will be paying especially close attention to West Morris Mendham's game: after West Morris Mendham faces off against Ridge, they'll take on Montville again at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
