Softball Recap: Oakwood Takes a Loss

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Oakwood was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 12-2 to Normangee.

Oakwood saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaler Richardson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Oakwood has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. Their recent woes sure aren't a result of their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 7.25 strikeouts in those games compared to only 3.75 in the others. Normangee's victory ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-10.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Oakwood Panthers challenge Leon Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Normangee, they will look to defend their home field on March 18th against Centerville at 6:00 p.m.
