Softball Recap: Dixon Wins Going Away Against Rio Linda

Dixon's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Rio Linda Knights 10-2. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Dakota Gaball spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emily Morris, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Allison Latham was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dixon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Dixon's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Rio Linda, they moved to 20-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Dixon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rio Linda, they will square off against Antelope at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
