Basketball Recap: Ridgeland Comes Up Short

Ridgeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 42-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Baptist Hill Bobcats. While Ridgeland didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Baptist Hill 12-6 in the first quarter.

Baptist Hill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Shaniya Gathers out in front who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jazerah Fenley, who posted five points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Ridgeland's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Baptist Hill, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Ridgeland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-23 defeat against Baptist Hill on the 11th. Baptist Hill has also already played their next matchup, a 73-12 loss against West Ashley on the 10th.
